Terms of service
1. The service
qbwfileunlock.com is a password recovery service for QuickBooks Desktop company files (.qbw) and backups (.qbb). You upload a locked file and we return a copy of the same file with a new admin password that we tell you in the delivery email.
2. What we do with your file
We run a password-replacement process on our own secure Linux host. Your original file is not modified — we work on a copy and return that copy with a new admin password set. QuickBooks will still ask for a password when the file is opened; we tell you that password in the delivery email so you can open it and then change it to your own from inside QuickBooks. Our working copy of your file is deleted from our servers as soon as we have finished processing it. The unlocked copy and your original are both available on your download link for 7 days, then both are deleted from our systems.
3. What you are responsible for
You confirm that you own the file you are uploading, or that you have written permission from the owner to unlock it. Unlocking a file you do not own may be illegal under the Computer Misuse Act 1990 (UK) or equivalent laws in your country.
4. Pricing and payment
Fixed price per file, shown before you upload. Payment via PayPal before unlocking begins. If we cannot replace the password (rare), we refund the full amount.
5. No fix, no fee
If we cannot replace the password on your file, you do not pay.
6. Refunds
If the output file does not match the description on the pricing page (i.e. missing data we said we would include), we will refund the full amount. Refund requests within 30 days of payment, sent to [email protected], are processed within one business day. If we cannot replace the password on your file, we email you a full refund automatically without you having to ask.
7. Service availability
We aim to process files within one hour during UK working hours (9am to 9pm UK time, Mon to Sat). Out-of-hours orders are processed by 9am the next working day. We do not guarantee 100% uptime.
8. Privacy
See our privacy policy. In short: we collect your email address and the file you upload, we do not sell or share either, and we delete both within 7 days of processing.
